not so exciting things...

so... after being super excited yesterday about so much, the bad news came... ugh...

the church that i have attended ever since i was a baby (sang in the choir when i was so little i had to stand in the pew to see the hymnal held by my grandma) was burned down over the weekend... arson... i'm pretty upset and angry about it... the church was super old... nearly 150 years old... but lots of extra work and the recent extensions (recent as in past 20 years) were done by my grandparents... my grandpa built the steeple that was on it... he hung the new windows and replaced the roof... my grandma cooked many loaves of bread for communion in the kitchen... i grew up in that place... and now it's a pile of ash... i just don't understand what would drive someone to burn down a tiny church, down a dirt road, out in the middle of no where... grrr... and what's more, is two other churches (my church's sister church and another one in the same conference) were vandalized on the same night... some people make me so mad i could spit...

and just when i thought the bad news was over... my roommate found out that one of her cats is sick... well she knew delilah has a hyperthyroid condition and is treating that... but cleo had been acting strange lately, so ruth took her to the vet yesterday... after an examination the vet told her that cleo either has cancer or the same condition as delilah... but they won't know for sure till they get the blood tests back, and can't do anything to treat her till they know for sure what it is... blah... hopefully it's the hyperthyroid thing and she'll feel better soon... poor kitties... they're getting old (like 15 yrs old) and it's sad to know that they could be dying... i know, most of the time i'm complaining about the cats being in my bed, or on my furniture... but really, they are the sweetest cats, and i've grown to really like them...

hopefully that's all the bad news for a while... in 12 hours i'll be on a plane to england!!!! hmm... i better get some work done before i leave... later...

April,
I was so sorry to hear about your church. I don't understand that kind of thing, either. I hope the beautiful memories that you have of the place and your grandparents will give you some comfort.
I hope they catch the creeps who did such a rotten thing.
Love,
Jill
